A slice of Morocco in Washington Heights, this sweet bistro sits just a couple of blocks east of Inwood Hill Park. Inside they've captured the essence of the Casbah with red and terracotta washed walls, paintings depicting life in Morroco, and an assortment of colorful glass lamps.
The cuisine of North Africa is celebrated here; traditional tagines are served with your choice of fish, chicken or lamb, or opt for a taste of history with the Fifteenth-Century couscous, a combination of seafood, almonds, apricots and cranberries in a light saffron creame sauce. French-influenced dishes include filet mignon and grilled pork chops. The Casablanca-born owner, Karim Bouskou, and his wife Natalie Weiss, promote a convivial atmosphere, aided by a delightful waitstaff.
