The mission of Safe Horizon is to provide support, prevent violence, and promote justice for victims of crime and abuse, their families and communities. DVPP/Claremont Community Office

The Domestic Violence Police Program/Claremont Community Office offers counseling and practical assistance for victims of crime - including domestic violence, mugging, assault, and burglary victims. All New York City residents who are victims of crime are eligible. In addition, all services are free and confidential.

Available Services

     * Assistance with shelter placement, relocation, and NYCHA emergency housing transfers and Section 8 applications

     * Assistance with NYS Crime Victim Board (CVB) claim applications

     * Crisis intervention counseling

     * Practical services such as emergency food, transportation, and lock changes

     * New York City residents who are victims of crime, support groups, workshops, and more

Families of Homicide Victims Program

The families of Homicide Victims Programs opened its doors in 1979 to help surviving family members in the five boroughs of New York City cope with the tragedy of murder.

Available Services

* Provide survivors of homicide victims practical assistance such as funeral benefits, court advocacy, support groups, and case management

* Delivers educational presentations and technical assistance to communities and service providers such as health care, and criminal justice professionals

* Offers survivors of homicide victims compassionate and expert bereavement counseling
